From the factory, the 2023 Z is capable of pushing 155 mph, according to Nissan. That’s not exactly a groundbreaking number, especially considering the 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque coming from the car’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine. Like many vehicles on the road, that speed limit is not actually created by a lack of output, but rather an electronic limiter placed into the vehicle’s ECU software. That means that tuners like GReedy have the ability to do away with such an annoyance and continue to push the car to its actual limits.
This particular test car belongs to the folks at Trust, and has already had the limiter removed. A prototype muffler from GReddy has been installed into the exhaust system, which brought a slight bump of about 10 hp. The video also makes note of changing boost pressure, but there is no mention of exactly how much more boost is running through the system. That said, the video does highlight a total output rating of just under 474 and 517 lb-ft of torque after a dyno run.

The folks at GReedy even invited chief engineer Hiroshi Tamura to come watch his creation make the attempt. Initially the crew worked their way up to the faster speeds, at which the driver noticed a bit of a vibration coming from the hood. The team pulled the car back in to tape up the seams before the car was quickly sent back out on the banked track. During the high-speed testing, the modified Z was able to achieve a GPS-verified top speed of just over 177 mph, despite showing a speedometer reading of 186 mph.
